I have often been asked what happened to the Summervilles after the deaths of Richard and Bethany. It was a long time ago that I published Holy Poison, the six book series set during the brutal reign of Bloody Mary, but I thought I would fill in the blanks. The series is still very popular.

When we left the series, the eldest son, Joshua, was the Earl of Summerville and he lived happily with his wife, Susannah. But Susannah had always had a problem with the wife of Joshua's brother, Alex. She was the illegitimate daughter of a servant and Susannah just could not accept that she was good enough to be married to the son of an Earl.

We re-join the Summervilles with all children grown up, Joshua's daughters, Joanna and Bethany, Alex sons, Richard and Henry and Estelle's stepson Davy Paxton.

This generation has no violent monarch to contend with, no heroics to perform like their grandparents, but they have their own battles to fight.
