The Cavalier's Pact

After Cromwell, what happens to a nobleman who has followed the royalists through the civil war and who has fled abroad along with the King for his own safety?

Adam Pennington was only a child when his father took him away for his own safety. Now the King has returned and promised all his followers that their property will be returned to them.

Adam finds a Puritan, Jacob Janous, in residence in his mansion and his estate has gone to ruins. He can lawfully tell Jacob to leave, but he will never be able to afford to restoration of everything that has been in his family for generations.

But Jacob has a secret. During Cromwell's republic, adultery was a crime punishable by death. Jacob's daughter was accused of adultery and to protect her, he faked her death and she has lived in seclusion in the house ever since.

Will Adam marry this unpleasant Puritan woman to get his hands on her father's fortune? Will she accept an over decorated Cavalier with no belief in God, a man who loves everything she has been raised to believe is sinful? Even his long, curled hair offends her.

The Cavalier's Pact is a tale of two people from different worlds, two people who could not be more opposite, and how they gradually find in each other things to admire.
